Join us for our Community Resilience course and learn about the meaningful actions that you and your community can take to enhance resilience to natural hazards and of the opportunities available to incorporate these actions into professional practice. Increase your understanding about community resilience (CR) and how it can benefit hazard planning, including practices of how community resilience can be enhanced at the local level. Learn about resources and tools that can assist to identify the various components of risk and strategies for integrating community resilience into existing plans and programs.

Toms River Notice on Rebuilding

Rebuilding

Toms River Township encourages residents to rebuild their homes, and as such, residents seeking to rebuild within the same footprint will be permitted to do so. Contact the Planning office for further info and details. Their office is located at Town Hall and can be reached at (732) 341-1000, ext. 8354

IMPORTANT:  On 11/27/12, the Township received notification from FEMA that new preliminary flood elevation maps will be issued by FEMA on or about DECEMBER 12, 2012. Based on this new information and in light of the short time frame involved, the Township strongly recommends that property owners review the new flood elevation maps once they are issued, prior to moving forward with their rebuilding plans.

Attention Small Business Owners Effected by Sandy

FEMA AND SBA TO LEAD CALL ON SANDY RELIEF EFFORTS FOR NJ SMALL BUSINESSES

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Please join Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and State of New Jersey senior officials for a conference call on the federal government’s efforts to help small businesses and homeowners recover from Hurricane Sandy. Officials will provide updates and answer questions about assistance and support to states affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, ensuring the federal family and its public and private partners continue to provide all available resources to support state, local, territorial and tribal communities in affected areas.
