AIA-NJ COTE has been busy this year already and we have many more things planned. The first quarter of the year we ran 6 LEED study groups across the State (thanks to our volunteer facilitators and donated space, we were able to do so at an exceptionnally reduced cost). These 5 day, 2 hour workshops were attended by over 100 members with many reporting back successfully passing the exam, including our own AIA-NJ President (congrats Stacey).
Upcoming activities include:
1. Green Residential and High Performance Design Workshop- July 14th & 15th at Willow School in Gladstone NJ, a LEED Platinum facility on conjunction with USGBC-NJ and Rutgers Bloustein School. 15 sustainable product/system vendors, 2 days of educational workshops providing HSW/SD CEU’s and a great building tour(s) of a LEED Platinum facility. Space is still available for speakers, vendors, and sponsorship. Please reach out to your sustainable contacts in the industry and have them contact us if interested at [email protected]
2. East Coast Green- ‘Back to School’ to meet the Architecture 2030 Goals. Planned for September 2010 to be a 2 day large event in either Atlantic City or Liberty State Park. Ed Mazria, founder of Architecture 2030, has agreed to be a keynote speaker. We need volunteers to organize lecture tracks, vendors, and sponsors. Get involved!
